Consulting and training

In addition to my own measurements and analyses, I also offer consulting in the following areas:

  • reduction of noise and vibration of various machinery
  • the problematics of sound quality
  • vibrodiagnostics of machines
  • automated measuring systems for output inspection of various products based on vibroacoustic diagnostics
  • recommendation of suitable measuring technique for various purposes (in the field of vibroacoustic measurements and analyses)

I also offer trainings, courses, seminars in the field of experimental and computational methods used in the optimization of vibroacoustic properties of machines, as well as trainings focused on technical diagnostics of machinery. Trainings can also be connected with practical demonstrations of measurements, using quality equipment. These demonstrations can be purposefully focused on the analysis of a specific problem, according to the customer’s requirements. Training participants will receive a certificate of completion of the course in the relevant field as well as training materials in paper (possibly in digital) form. Trainings and training materials can also be provided in English.

Topics of selected trainings

  • vibroacoustics for constructor (The training is mainly intended for professional workers in the field of development, construction of machines and equipment. Its goal is to familiarize participants with proven methods of vibroacoustic optimization of mechanical structures, which can be used in the construction of machines from various fields of technology. Usually, this optimization is also associated with reducing the wear of components, by improving functional properties, fatigue characteristics, reliability and lifetime. Procedures are mainly based on optimization of modal properties, transmission characteristics, used materials, geometry, minimization of excitation effects, etc.)
  • FEM in the practice of the constructor (The training is mainly intended for professionals in the field of development, construction of machines and equipment. Course participants will gain an overview of the possibilities of using the finite element method in the design of various components of machinery. This is basic training, which mainly includes linear analyses from the field static, dynamic and thermal calculations. These can usually be solved by using various FEM add-ons of CAD systems or by using affordable, separate FEA software packages.)
  • sound quality of cars (The training is mainly intended for experts in the field of development, construction of vehicles, service technicians, those interested in sound tuning of vehicles, etc. Its aim is to familiarize participants with the problematics of vibroacoustic comfort of vehicles, methods of subjective and objective evaluation of sound quality, possibilities of influencing vehicle sound quality, procedures for identifying sources of disturbing sounds in the interior of vehicles, etc. Sound quality becomes a priority when dealing with the interior of passenger cars, and any deterioration in this area, e.g. after certain service interventions, repairs, is sensitively perceived by customers.)
  • vibroacoustics in technical practice (The course is intended for professionals and managers in industry, services, as well as entrepreneurs operating noisy equipment, etc. Course participants will get an overview of legislation related to noise and vibrations, basic information in the field of vibroacoustic measurements, possibilities of using vibrodiagnostics methods, monitoring systems, etc.)
  • experimental modal analysis (This training is mainly intended for professionals in the field of development, construction, testing of machines and equipment, etc. Its goal is to familiarize course participants with the theoretical background of experimental modal analysis, own measurement of transfer functions, methods of estimation of modal parameters, system tuning, etc.)
  • computational modal analysis (The course is intended mainly for specialists in the field of machine and equipment development, but also designers of steel constructions, etc. Its goal is to familiarize course participants with the theoretical background of computational modal analysis, common procedures for using the finite element method, the possibilities of computational structural modifications at the optimization of system properties, etc.)
  • hybrid modeling (This training is mainly intended for specialists in the field of machine and equipment development, but also for others interested in the optimization of mechanical structures. Course participants will get a comprehensive overview of both experimental and computational modal analysis, including the process to achieve a good correlation of analytical and experimental models.)
  • basics of digital signal processing (The training is intended mainly for professionals from various fields of testing, development of automated measurement systems, etc. Course participants will gain an overview of the field of signals processing from mechanical systems with the inclusion of the following thematic areas – classification of signals, discretization, time windows, Fourier transformation, averaging, overlapping windows, frequency weighting, signal filtering, decimation, recording timing, etc.)
  • vibrodiagnostics of machinery (The course is intended mainly for professionals in the field of testing machines, service technicians, maintenance workers, etc. Course participants will become familiar with the basics of digital processing of signals from mechanical systems, analyses in the time and frequency domain, including order analysis. The training is mainly focused on diagnosing faults of the main components of electromechanical systems i.e. electric motors, shafts, rolling bearings, various transmissions and so on. The course may include practical demonstrations of measurements e.g. using a vibrometer, multi-channel DAQ system, stroboscope, mechanical and electronic sonoscope, etc.)
  • modern methods of technical diagnostics (The course is intended mainly for professionals in the field of mechanical system testing, quality experts, service technicians, maintenance workers, etc. Course participants will become familiar with the principles of the functioning of instrumentation from the following areas – industrial endoscopy, stroboscopic measurements, infrared diagnostics, measurements and analyses using a sonoscope, acoustic camera and high-speed camera. These are modern methods used, among other things, in the non-dismantling diagnostics* of various devices, machine development. The theoretical part can be appropriately supplemented with practical demonstrations of measurements e.g. using a stroboscope, endoscope, thermal camera, sonoscope, etc.)

* Non-dismantling diagnostics is currently used mainly in the field of monitoring the operating condition of machines and in the output inspection of various products. Another use has e.g. at acceptance tests of new machines, evaluation of the quality of performed repairs, when determining the scope of the necessary service intervention from the point of view of an effective solution of the repair, diagnostics of devices that would not be possible to claim after their dismantling, etc.

The content of the trainings can be modified in accordance with the customer’s needs (tailored training). It can also represent the addition of other topics related to the given problematics. As part of the technical diagnostics of machinery, the trainings can be extended e.g. with basics in the field of defectoscopy, tribodiagnostics, material fatigue, reliability and lifetime of machinery, etc.

The dates of the courses depend on the number of requests for training in the given area, so that the number of participants is not less than 5 and does not exceed 15. Payment for the course must be made no later than 2 weeks before its start. Cancellation of the application can be accepted without penalty also no later than 2 weeks before the course date. The training can be done for closed groups also at the customer’s premises. In other cases, the organizer will provide suitable premises, after agreement with the participants. Accommodation and meals are provided by the participants individually.

In case of interest, it is possible to provide education in the form of online trainings. It is an effective form of education that allows greater flexibility in choosing a suitable date and time. Online courses or consultations can be a suitable alternative also from point of view of lower costs for the customer (costs related to travel or accommodation of his employees, etc. are eliminated). There is also no need to provide training facilities, which will allow the organizer to provide more favorable prices.
